SJB Group, LLC in Baton Rouge, LA has an immediate need for an:

Description:

The ideal candidate should have strong Accounting experience along with a high level of knowledge around GAAP and FAR regulations. The candidate should also have the ability to apply FAR and GAAP in an effective manner as well as have knowledge of industry best practices in accounting and business.

This individual will direct the day-to-day operations of the Accounting and HR team, assuring that a highly productive and well trained staff is always maintained, assures the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial reporting and accounting functions while providing information and assistance to the Owner and Management. 

Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger maintenance, which includes the preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, account analysis and reconciliation, closing of the books monthly and yearly, and setting up new accounts.
  • Prepares monthly financial statements including monthly balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows and report on changes in financial position/budget variances.  Maintains related records.
  • Prepares monthly bank reconciliations, verifies all deposits, and addresses questions and problems from banking institutions.
  • Files appropriate tax forms and reports with government agencies (e.g. occupational license, sales tax, and state filings).
  • Assists outside auditor at year-end, including preparing schedules, invoices, providing explanation of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any necessary data.
  • Primary Contact for accounting advisory, banking communications, and insurance policies
  • Other duties as typical and needed for this role

Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting; CPA a plus, but not required.
  • Approximately 5-10 years' experience in design services industry preferred
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision a plus
  • Strong skills in customizing reports using current software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Possess strong leadership and influencing skills, as well as relationship building and collaboration, judgment, team work, people management, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion, diligence and good judgment.
