SUMMARY:

Responsible for locating buried utility lines using vacuum excavation equipment. Performs basic designating tasks.  Adheres to all safety guidelines.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Ability to dig test holes in any situation including extreme weather conditions.
  • Operates the Vacuum Excavation equipment including general maintenance.
  • Gather the necessary information and properly fill out Vacuum Excavation field documentation.
  • Assists in designation tasks per instruction from SUE Tech II.
  • Possess a basic understanding of traffic control procedures.
  • Possess an expert understanding of personal protective equipment.
  • Understands and applies all company safety and operational policies.
  • Operates company vehicle safely.
  • May travel out of town.
  • Maintains a professional image.

 

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma/GED. No previous utility designating/locating experience required.  Valid Driver's license is required.  

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, written and verbal correspondence, and memos.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
