Civil CAD Designer Technician

Type: Full Time Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Job Description:

The Civil CAD/MicroStation Technician will work closely with Project Engineers/Project Managers to obtain project information and ensure drawings are accurate and complete. This person will perform complex drafting assignments within company and industry standards and codes. In particular, this person will work on land development and municipal projects including drainage, sewer, water, paving, grading, and site layout.

Responsibilities:

• Reviews rough sketches, drawings, and other engineering data received from clients, Civil Engineer, or Project Manager.
• Creates detailed engineering designs, prepares construction drawings, and prepares said drawings for proposed improvements such as roads, bridges, drainage systems, water & sewer facilities, and land development projects under the direction of the Civil Engineer or Project Manager.
• Assists in the analysis and preparation of reports, maps, drawings, plans, and other items to plan and design project.
• Performs and assist in the design and layout of engineering projects by using AutoCAD or other means.
• Recommends design changes to civil engineers. Mentors less experienced CADD personnel and offers advice and knowledge.
• Be able to conduct research with limited guidance

Requirements:

• Approximately 2-5 years' experience drafting in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
• Knowledge of AutoDesk and/or Bentley products
• Microsoft Office
